Client Challenge
Kepa worked for an Australian transportation client with over 10,000 employees, $40 Billion assets under management and a $12 Billion per annum operating cost. The client was in great need of prioritising their project initiatives.

The Process
The following actions were undertaken in order to optimise this clients projects.
- Engage engineers and SMEs to identify potential initiatives to upgrade infrastructure and operations to meet demands
- Identify likely timeframes and costs for each initiative (2,000 initiatives, >$100 Billion cost)
- Establish criteria for analysing initiatives – 400 criteria in total, 260 criteria of desired customer outcomes
- Implement initiatives into AppO as options, implement criteria into AppO
- Perform surveys of key stakeholders to establish relative importance of criteria
- Survey SMEs to establish likely performance of the options against each criteria
- Analyse options to identify the combination with the lowest cost that could deliver the required capacity.
- Prioritise alternative combinations based on their likely ability to deliver in the required timeframes
Condensed Viable Options
Over 2,000 initiatives were reduced to ~1,000
Increased Savings
Savings / costs avoided of approximately $20 Billion AUD.
